UPN Veteran Yogyakarta Business Administration Lecturer Gives Guest Lecture at UniSZA Malaysia

On 21 November 2023, two UPN Veteran Yogyakarta Business Administration lecturers namely Dr. Meilan Sugiarto, Dr., S.SoS., MSi, and Dr. Adi Soeprapto, S.Sos, M.Si gave a guest lecture at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Terengganu Malaysia. The Business Administration delegation was warmly welcomed as part of an agenda to maximise engagement and knowledge exchange between the visiting delegation and the academic community at UniSZA.

The day started at 9:45am with the arrival of the UPN Veteran Yogyakarta delegation. They were warmly welcomed by the Senior Management Members of FPP UniSZA with academy discussions scheduled from 9:45am to 11:00am. Dr Maslina Mansor, an experienced academic from FPP UniSZA, led the lecture session involving students from BBA IF3A & 5A. The topic of discussion revolved around “Leadership and Trust,” a fundamental aspect in business administration. Dr Maslina Mansor’s expertise and interactive teaching style ensured an engaging and enlightening learning experience for the students.

After the lecture sessions, there is a designated time for consultation with Graduate Students in the Guest Professor Room. This allows for more personalised interaction between the visiting delegates and the students, encouraging mentorship opportunities and academic guidance.

After a short break for lunch, the programme resumed at 1:00pm with another lecture session, this time in the Smart Classroom. Dr Sheikh Ahmad Faiz, a distinguished faculty member from FPP, took over to guide BBA IF 3B students in a discussion on “Leadership and Trust.” The dynamic teaching approach used by Dr Sheikh Ahmad Faiz ensured active participation and critical thinking among the students, enhancing their understanding of the subject matter.

Similar to the morning session, the afternoon session also included a consultation period with Graduate Students in the Guest Professor Room. This allows for further discussion on lecture topics and provides valuable insights for the students from experienced academics.

The day ended at 4:30pm, marking the end of an enriching academic exchange between the UPN Veteran Yogyakarta delegation and the FPP community. The Guest Lecture Programme not only provided students with valuable insights into leadership and trust, but also facilitated meaningful interactions between academia and industry experts.

The momentum of knowledge exchange continued the following day, 22 November 2023, Wednesday. From 9:00 am to 11:00 am, a “Casual Talk” session was organised with FPP Management Lecturer. Dr. Nurul Aisyah Awanis and Dr. Siti Nor Adawiyah Azzahra moderated the discussion on “Building a Dynamic Organisational Culture and Conflict Management: Understanding, Preventing, and Resolving Problems in Organisations.” This session further enriched the academic discourse and strengthened the collaborative relationship between UPN Veteran Yogyakarta and FPP. Overall, the Guest Lecture Programme serves as a platform for knowledge dissemination, academic collaboration, and professional networking. It affirms both institutions’ commitment to academic excellence and student development, paving the way for future co-operation and intellectual endeavours.
