The Department of Business Administration of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta was established in the academic year 1995/1996 based on the Joint Decree of the Minister of Defense and Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No.0307/10/1994 and Kep/10/XI/1994 dated November 29, 1994. The first academic activity was held on August 26, 1995.
On July 7, 2000 based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education Number: 014/BAN-PT/AK-IV/VII/2000, the Department of Commercial Administration succeeded in obtaining “B” accreditation. The Department of Commercial Administration changed to the Department of Business Administration based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No: 3001/D/T/2004 dated August 4, 2004 concerning Permission to Operate the Department of Business Administration (S1) at the National Development University “Veteran” Yogyakarta.
In 2005 through the Decree of the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education No..: 017/BAN-PT/AK-IX/S1/X/2005 The Department of Business Administration was successfully accredited with an “A” rating. This rating was successfully maintained in 2011, 2016, and most recently in 2021 based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education No. 1304/SK/BAN-PT/A: 1304/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/S/III/2021 with a rating of “A” and valid until March 6, 2026.
Based on the Decree of DIKTI number 727/D/T/2005 dated March 4, 2005, the name of the Department of Commercial Administration (S1) is considered the same / identical with the Department of Business Administration (S1). The education program in the Department of Business Administration is designed to prepare students to have competence in the field of business and entrepreneurship, supported by the ability to communicate effectively, negotiate and utilize technology for business development. Learning activities in the Department of Business Administration are supported by 19 permanent lecturers with educational qualifications S3 as many as 11 people and S2 as many as 8 people.
